The Faculty of Business and Management Studies was established at the inception of Sunyani Polytechnic by the Polytechnic law of 1992.
Its component Departments were the Department of Accountancy, Marketing, and General Studies which became Department of Commercial Studies and currently Secretaryship and Management Studies.
The recent addition is the Department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
The Faculty is headed by the Dean, Mr. Michael Adu-Nti and assisted by Vice Dean Mr. Yaw Deh and administrative support staff.
The Mission of the Faculty is to coordinate and enhance vocational education in Accounting, Marketing and Office Administration and Supply Chain Management through quality teaching, practical training and research.
The objective of the Faculty is to produce highly trained graduates in the areas of Accounting, Marketing, Secretarial/Office Management and Supply Chain Management.
In future, the Faculty plans to create collaborative links with professional and academic institutions such as the University of Hull and Leeds Metropolitan University both in the United Kingdom by organizing exchange programmes, joint conferences, workshops and research collaborations to enhance its future academic development.
The Faculty is working towards the introduction of sandwich and part-time programmes, as well as Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology degrees in the coming years.
