The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the fastest growing Departments running tertiary programmes. The Department has firmly taken its roots, springing up in a monumental stature than ever anticipated. The Department since inception has shown a lot of potential to become one of the resource centres in the training of personnel relevant in the field of Construction, Environmental and Water Resources Management.
The mission of the Civil Engineering Department is to provide high quality, career-focused education and training at the tertiary level with emphasis on practical training, experience and entrepreneurial skills to students to meet the middle and higher level manpower needs of the country.

The Department provides Consultancy Services in Groundwater Quality, Structural Engineering, Waste Management and Environmental Sanitation. A sachet water production unit is to be established under the supervision of the Department.
