Re-Opening of School for Continuing Students

Following directive by the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his 15th Address to the Nation on the COVID-19 pandemic on the re-opening of educational institutions for continuing students on Sunday, August 16, 2020, the Executive Committee at its meeting held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 decided as follows:

  1. The re-opening date for continuing students is slated for Monday, August 24, 2020 and academic activities begin from Tuesday, August 25, 2020 to Friday, September 4, 2020.
  2. The period for examinations begins from Monday, September, 2020 to Friday, September 18, 2020.
Protocols
  1. Temperature of students shall be taken at the university entry points.
  2. There shill be provision of Veronica Buckets at all vantage points on campus.
  3. Security Personnel shall be on guard with Gun Thermometers to ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols including checking of temperature and hand washing before entering into hostels and lecture halls.
  4. Students shall be provided with Personal Protective Equipment (face masks) by the University and Ministry of Education.
  5. Students without face masks shall be denied entry into campus and lecture halls (No Face Mask, No Entry).
  6. All lecture halls and hostels shall be disinfected and fumigated before the re-opening date of Monday, August 24, 2020.
  7. All students shall be provided with hand sanitizers.
  8. Students are advised to observe social distancing, no hugging, no sporti11g activities, no religious activities and hand shaking.
  9. All symptoms of coronavirus should be reported to the University Clinic immediately (ie. listening to your body and report any unusual signs or feelings).
  10. In the case of any abnormal temperature reading, the person involved shall immediately be sent to the University Clinic for further checks.
  11. All Faculty, staff and students are to comply with the above in addition to the Ministry of Health protocols on COVID-19.
