Autobiography

Juanita Ahia Quarcoo holds an MPhil. in Computer Engineering and is a lecturer. She teaches programming (Java, C++), mobile service system design, computer system architecture, data structures and algorithms, and computer literacy at Sunyani Technical University, Ghana. She earned an MPhil. in Computer Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2011, and PgD (Postgraduate Diploma) in Wireless and Mobile Computing (WiMC) from Advanced Information Technology Institute – Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence (AITI – KACE). Her research interests are in the area of Computer Networks; Educational and Instructional Technology; Wireless and Mobile Computing; Artificial Intelligence; Cloud Computing and Mobile App Development.

As an educational technologist, she is hardworking, resourceful and ambitious with extensive knowledge and understanding of practical applications of technology in education and its relevant impact on other sectors of the IT industry. Experience of applying varying technologies in the classroom and its impact on the teaching and learning process in institutions of higher learning has affected her delivery as a lecturer and contribution to the growth of the industry as a whole. Having an active commitment to the changing scenes in the classroom coupled with the influx of new technologies backed by the presence of various wireless and mobile computing platforms creates an avenue for the application of recent tech both in research and in instructional delivery.
