12th Congregation: STU is Ready


The Sunyani Technical University is making frantic efforts to absorb as many Free SHS graduates as possible, beginning from September this year when the next academic year is expected to commence.

To this end, the University is putting up a 1000-bed capacity hostel while efforts are also being made to renovate three existing hostels namely; Cocoa, Busia and Magazine Halls to provide decent accommodation for students.

Inauguration Of Faculty Advisory Boards

The Sunyani Technical University (STU) has inaugurated Faculty Advisory Boards (FABs) to provide valuable guidance and advisory support to the faculties to advance the vision of the University.

Membership of the FABs for each of the current four Faculties are - the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST), Faculty of Engineering (FoE), Faculty of Build Environment and Applied Arts (FBEAA) and Faculty of Business and Management Studies (FBMS) of the University were selected from the academia and industry.

The Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah has challenged technical universities to chart a new path of research and innovation distinct from other universities, adding that this new paradigm poses a huge responsibility and requires leadership that has the vision to deliver optimum outcomes to shape the development landscape.

Develop attractive policies

The Vice-Chancellor of the Sunyani Technical University (STU), Professor Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, has appealed to the government to develop a deliberate policy that prepares students at the basic level to take up science, technology and engineering programmes at the tertiary level.
