Executive Search: Registrar

The Governing Council of Sunyani Technical University announces the vacancy for a Registrar; and is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person.

 

The University

Established in 1967 as Sunyani Technical Institute in Sunyani, the Capital of Bono Region, Ghana, the Institution was upgraded to a Polytechnic in 1997 and later converted to a Technical University in 2016, following the promulgation of the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922), as amended.

 

The Position

Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar shall Serve as Secretary to the Governing Council, the Academic Board, and all Statutory Committees. He/She shall be the Chief Operating Officer in-charge of all administrative, secretarial and human resource management functions of the University.

 

The Registrar shall be responsible for the custody of the University’s Seal and for affixing same to relevant documents of the Governing Council and the Academic Board.

 

The Person

The Applicant must hold a minimum of Masters’ Degree, preferably, in Administration and Management related areas. He/She must have served as a Deputy Registrar in a University or in a comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least six (6) years. He/She must be computer literate.

 

Terms of Appointment

The Registrar shall hold office for a term of four (4) years, and may, upon application, be eligible for re-appointment for another term in accordance with the relevant provisions of the University Statutes.

 

The terms and conditions of the appointment shall be determined by the Governing Council of the University in accordance with the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922), as amended; and the Statutes of Sunyani Technical University.

The salary and Conditions of Service attached to this position are very attractive and are comparable to those in analogous public universities in Ghana.

Mode of Application

The Applicant must submit six (6) copies of his/her application letter attached to his/her Curriculum Vitae, including names and addresses of three (3) referees. Also, he/she must attach a short statement of not more than four (4) pages (Times New Roman size 12 and 1.5 line spacing) outlining his/her vision and strategies for implementation, as well as reports from each of the referees.

 

Applications (Hardcopies) must be hand-delivered in sealed envelopes to the Registrar of the University or submitted by Registered Mail (as applicable) to reach the address below not later than Thursday, 26th February, 2026.
